"Sport fishing" or "sportfishing"
No matter how you spell it, it's exciting!
Within these pages you'll find plenty of information to help you plan your Maui fishing adventure. I hope you find it both informative and fun! Below is a brief rundown of what I've got in store for you.
“Everything You Always Wanted to Know but Forgot to Ask.” My Maui fishing F.A.Q. page answers many common questions regarding charter boat prices, fish policies, game fish you might expect to catch, types of fishing charters (deepsea sportfishing vs. bottom fishing, vs. light tackle), weather concerns, etc. This page should answer most of your questions. If not, feel free to email me.
There are roughly 25 charter fishing boats on Maui, but there are less than a dozen of them I recommend on a regular basis. I don't publish my “don't bother” list on the internet ‘cause Maui is a small island and I've got to live with these folks. But if you complete my sportfishing inquiry form I'll fill you in! Don't worry if you don't know what boat you want, just tell me what your needs are and I'll point you towards the best fishing boat for you and your group.Die Hard Extreme Sportfishing, Lahaina Maui

OK, so you might not hook up to a world class, pacific blue marlin, mahi mahi, or ono, but face it; fishing's fun no matter what you're catching, and your practically guaranteed to catch something on a Maui bottom fishing trip!
"Yes, Virginia, there is some fun shore, beach and reef fishing on Maui!" Can't fit a day of charter boat fishing into your vacation schedule or budget? You've got to read this page!
"Now, hold it out in front of you so it looks bigger!" OK, My wife's put together a really cool slideshow and a photo album with images we've collected over the years. Mahi mahi (dorado), ono (wahoo), ahi (yellowfin tuna), barracuda, rainbow runners (Hawaiian salmon), and of course, lots of marlin. Enjoy.
Curious about who's running this site? Just me.
“Be nice! If I wanted flak, I'd call my ex!” I want to hear from you!
If you've got more questions before you book, or you just want to tell me
how much you've enjoyed this site, be sure to let me know.

As summer approaches, there are several things to consider...
Summer is wedding season on Maui. It is also the time people like to travel with families. Maui's supply of fishing boats that can handle larger groups, as well as those that can accommodate children are extemely limited.
Additionally, July is the month of summer fishing tournaments so the fleet will be reduced during that month as well.
